SM-255
HEAVY DUTY HOT SOAK CLEANER
Ideal for rack and barrel cleaner.

DESCRIPTION:

SM-255 is a heavy duty hot soak cleaner which rapidly removes heavy mineral oils, cutting oils, vegetable oils and grease from ferrous metals as well as zinc di cast. SM-255 works will, in hard water, does not develop scum to deposit on parts and exceptionally free rinsing. Since SM-255 is compatible with electro cleaners, the rinse between soak cleaning and electro cleaning can be omitted if necessary. SM-255 is free flowing granular powder readily soluble with no fumes or odors. SM-255 contains no cyanide, chromate, nitrate and creates no waste disposal problems. SM-255 has an outstanding long life and operates effectively even under heavy soil loading.

EQUIPMENT:

Mild steel tanks, barrels and racks are satisfactory for use with SM-255.

OPERATING CONDITIONS:

Concentration: 6-10 oz./gallon.
Time: 2 to 5 minutes (depending on the degree of oil & grease).
Temperature: 160 º F. to 180 º F.

SOLUTION MAKE-UP:

To prepare the solution, fill the tank with water to 2/3 of operating level and add the necessary amount of SM-255 to the solution while stirring.

SOLUTION MAINTENANCE:

Depending on the degree of oil and grease and daily operating hours, a weekly addition of SM-255 would be necessary for an 8 hours per day working time.

NON-FERROUS METALS:

Due to the strong nature of alkali salt, a lower concentration should be used for copper and brass (6 oz./gallon).

PRECAUTIONS:

SM-255 contains sodium hydroxide, causes severe burns to eyes and skin, avoid contact with eyes or skin, when handling and working with this product, wear safety goggles and rubber gloves, for external contact, flush with plenty of water, for eye contact, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and call a physician.
